Camden Project

Eye Wide Open worked with a group of disabled young people of Camden. We visited an exhibition of a photographer called Danny Tracey's. The artist used abandoned clothing to construct eerie suits, which he wore in these life-sized portraits to become Them.

The young people discussed ideas surrounding the artists way of working, the type of camera he used, what it must have been like to make the work, find the clothes, wear the clothes. They then also put these ideas and discussions into practice by making work of their own in their community center.

They also attended the Fashion in the Mirror exhibition, were the theme is to undress the theatre of fashion and consider the creation of a perfect photograph. Afterwards, they worked with this issue with their own pictures, as well.
