The European Portrait

In an effort to raise awareness about Europe, Eyes Wide Open has carried out a project portraying and interviewing 27 young Europeans. The European Project aims to increase our knowledge about Europe, dispel myths and illustrates a positive image of what European countries can bring. Furthermore, we are interested in understanding what Europeans enjoy about the UK and what the UK can benefit from Europe. This project explores the lives and daily realities of young Europeans (under 30) living in London.
It fosters young people’s sense of European citizenship and helps them to understand their role as part of the present and future of Europe. The activity will enable young people to observe different active ways of being citizens by learning from the contributions of those who take part in the project. The project has explored common European themes such as: equality, representation, ways to make a difference, taking part in local communities, enjoy whilst achieving, this is a project that celebrates cultural diversity.
